Dive Description:
The Gap is a natural passage through the reef at Port Noarlunga. The outside of the reef is quite different to the inside. There is more large brown algae and a series of continuous swim-throughs make it interesting to look under the ledges and big boulders. Herring kale and schools of drummer or salmon swim by.

Look for blue devils in crevasses and colourful nudibranchs and sea hares on the rock surfaces. Remember to swim into the current when you begin your dive and do a safety stop on ascent.

This is a marine reserve so nothing must be taken.

Hazards:
Care is necessary in the surge washing over the reef.
