Dive Site – Ardrossan Town Jetty

Dive Description:
Shallow dive and good for beginners with rubble mounds and an array of life. Timber piles under the jetty have interesting growth with abundant tunicates (sea squirts), bryazoans and anenomes. You will see decorator crabs and blue swimmer crabs scurrying along the bottom and if you are lucky you might sight a sea horse or nudibranch. 
Under the jetty there is a sandy bottom with some areas covered in sea grass beds. Traditionally, better visibility in winter months when wind is off shore.

Hazards:
Poor visibility in summer months with northerly winds. Beware of fishing lines.
