Dive Description:
The Steep coastal cliffs, and fascinating geological formations help make Second Valley unforgettable.

Second Valley’s protected waters provide scuba divers with memorable diving experiences as they encounter fur seals and leafy seadragons.

Second Valley is divided into two parts – the old mill on the main road and, down the valley to the sea, a tiny coastal port reminiscent of a Cornish fishing village. It’s a paradise for divers and snorkellers, with dramatic shipwrecks and stunning marine life, including the famed Leafy Seadragon.

A swim around the point provides plenty of sea life: blue devils, herring kale, and interesting anemones. There are two small caves so remember to bring torches.

Lasseter’s Reef is a bommie that is about 300 meters offshore.

Hazards:
Be mindful of current around the point.

Lassiter’s Reef is a long swim from the beach and this should only be attempted during low tidal flow.

Stormy weather can wash seaweed into the caves. This can affect visibility.

The caves should not be entered if there is a significant swell. There may be strong currents caused by water surging into and out of the cave.
